How to maintain a UV flatbed printer?

The printhead of a flatbed printer is a very important instrument. Proper maintenance of the printhead has a very important impact on extending the service life of the machine, saving costs, and the quality of screen printing. So how to maintain the printhead of a UV printer?

The printhead of a UV flatbed printer can be maintained from the following three points:

1. The printhead of a UV flatbed printer is affected by voltage

The printhead of a UV flatbed printer will be affected by voltage. If the voltage is too high or too low, it will cause severe ink interruption and severe vibration, which will damage the image quality. After experimental summary, it is best to maintain the voltage between 28 and 32V, which can not only present high-quality printing effects, but also maintain the printhead of the machine.

2. The printhead of a UV flatbed printer is affected by environmental humidity and temperature

Temperature and humidity will affect the ink, and then affect the printhead. The amount of ink in the ink chamber of the printhead is very large, so if the temperature and humidity change, the ink will be unstable, which will cause the printhead to be blocked, so its life will be rapidly reduced, so the indoor humidity and temperature balance is very critical.

3. UV flatbed printer nozzles are affected by ink quality

Poor quality ink will cause nozzle blockage during use. Even after cleaning, there will be a lot of residues. However, over the years, the residues will accumulate and become more and more, which will eventually lead to the scrapping of the nozzle.

The correct solution after nozzle blockage:

The “blockage” of inkjet printers can be roughly divided into two categories: soft blockage and hard blockage.

1. Repair of soft blockage:

1. Soft blockage refers to the disconnection caused by the viscosity of ink on the nozzle due to various reasons. Sometimes it only adheres to the surface of the ink outlet nozzle. Generally, the flash spray setting in the machine is turned on, and 8HZ is adjusted to 1K. Let it flash for 2 minutes and then adjust it back to 8HZ. After multiple flash sprays, it can be restored. Its advantages are simple and fast operation without any physical damage; the disadvantages are high cost of use and more waste of ink.

2. Use the print head cleaning function in the printer application tool to clean. Its advantages are simple and fast operation; the disadvantages are that the cleaning effect is not ideal.

2. Repair of hard plug:

Hard plug refers to the plug caused by chemical coagulation or impurities in the nozzle. The troubleshooting method is more difficult. At this time, the following two methods can be used to solve it.

1. Pressure method

Scope of application: The obstruction is relatively light

Required tools: 95% alcohol, a clean cup and a metal container with a smooth bottom. Working principle: Use a medium-strength organic solvent to dissolve the ink particles one by one. Note that 95% organic solvent alcohol must be used, otherwise it will be counterproductive.

Solution: First find a metal container with a smooth bottom, add a little 95% organic solvent alcohol to the container, and the alcohol should just cover the stainless steel edge of the print head (be careful not to let the nozzle motherboard contact the alcohol). The soaking time generally ranges from 5 to 15 minutes. Then use the pressure generated by the syringe to inject the alcohol, an organic solvent, into the print head to achieve the effect of cleaning the dried ink head.

2. Ultrasonic instrument cleaning method

Scope of application: The most serious obstruction

Working principle: Use an ultrasonic cleaning machine to generate strong ultrasonic waves to make water molecules vibrate violently, break up tiny dry ink particles and dissolve them in water, so as to achieve the purpose of cleaning.

Solution: Gently put the inkjet print head into the cleaning machine, add a special print head cleaning liquid, and the cleaning liquid should just cover the stainless steel edge of the print head (be careful not to let the motherboard contact the special cleaning liquid), and it can be quickly cleaned. Its advantages are that the cleaning effect is very ideal, and the print head that has been blocked for many years can be cleaned, and the operation is also very simple; the disadvantages are that the maintenance cost is high and the price is relatively expensive.
